It’s wild when you look at it from the greater historical context.

Malaria basically only existed south of the mason dixon line in the colonies, and European laborers that were brought over all required at least a year of “seasoning” (surviving malaria) and this was expensive.

I think this was a huge factor in importing labor from places where malaria was endemic (Africa).

So in a roundabout way malaria was a main cause for slavery in the colonies.

Pretty sure Gates was only an investor in the company that released the mosquitos, so he will never be touched or held liable.

If this becomes a widespread issue I guess all of us in Texas and Florida will need to become seasoned 🤦‍♂️
