Question for the ladies

Wifey and I are packing for a 4-day trip. Family wedding. Running late.

I’m fully packed, and she’s just starting. She says she needs to try on each outfit, to pair it with shoes and jewelry.

I know what I’m wearing each day, to the detail. Which shoes, which watch, which jacket. Which is why I’m packed. Why isn’t she?

What am I missing? I consider my wife to be grounded, pragmatic, and very on-top-of-her-shit. Why does she need to test each outfit in order to approve it to be packed?

I ask, not out of annoyance or lack of respect, but out of a genuine desire to understand. And a knowledge that, were I to ask her directly, she would feel a bit defensive and I would come across as exasperated.

So I ask the wise women of nostr, why is this a thing?

And guys, do any of do this (and I’m just lazy about packing)?

Honestly I’m just trying to understand and be empathetic toward my favorite person, in a situation with undue stress.

Gender norms and packing habits aside, please enlighten me 🙏❤️🫠
