In the future, instead of firing the ceo for bad decisions, when an ai appears to make bad decisions, the board will announce that they will upgrade it to fix the bug, or replace it with a different ai
Brave new world.
It can be a way for evil people to provocate WW3 by putting nuclear capabilities under computerized automated decision making ... you know, for "better efficiency" and "faster reaction" time.
That's a terrible thought in itself. However, still totally plausible with the current unfolding of events. Especially, with today's leadership in many countries. Abolish statism and all that comes with it.
It is terrible. Unfortunately, based on what I see and read, I think there are evil "elites" with power that want exactly that.
One example: Jane Goodall's comments at the World Economic Forum in January 2020
“We cannot hide away from human population growth, because it underlies so many of the other problems. All these things we talk about wouldn’t be a problem if the world was the size of the population that there was 500 years ago.”
A computer works with no contract, no time limit, no salary, no healthcare, no severance package, and does not complain or protest if summarily dismissed. It ceases to exist when no longer useful.
In short, blaming a human costs money, but blaming a computer is free. The killer app for ai might be pretending it makes all the tough decisions.
Never saw it this way but it does track. Interesting viewpoint.
