Signal is the best "whatsapp"-like messenger with a good dose of privacy -> my mother loves signal but i think simpleX would be too "different" for her

I agree, signal UX is better, and the recent desktop sync is a big plus.
SimpleX has also some glitches in the first connection, and sometimes messages delivering can delay, this can be intimidating for new users.
