Thanks 🙏
One of the big reasons I switched from out of home espresso to strictly at home filtered coffee is because I have a lot of control over the taste and aroma profile.
The guys I buy the beans from have a great catalog and actually take the time to grade and rate each particular coffee they sell, and they're very accurate. I only buy single-farm coffee, so it's very consistent too, even though I recognize that blends are supposed to be more consistent.
So I have different profiles: morning smooth round coffee, afternoon in the (home) office coffee, wake the hell up coffee, coffee that can actually admit a dash of cream, etc. depending on what I feel like.
I am a tea person too, and filtered coffee gives me a very similar experience to tea, especially green tea and its vast array of varieties and preparations.
