Someone close to me has her mood completely tied to the performance of her stock portfolio. She has had some giddy days in the past several months, but yesterday she couldn’t get out of bed with the market bleeding. Why would any tie their happiness to something they have zero control over?

Symptom of being over leveraged, and a lack of financial security.

Probably walking a tight rope with her finances and so she’s euphoric when the going is good and depressed when it seems she might be about to fall.

No exactly the opposite believe it or not . Boomer with no debt, incredible amount of assets and 8 figure stock portfolio. Yet her happiness was s dictated by the market.
