A lot of OGs have seen a lot of things come and go with big hype cycles, so they are probably jaded on new stuff like this, sitting it out or trying to be patient before sinking too much time in.

Also ppl get confused…

Yeah you’re probably right. Mastodon always sucked.

Mastodon’t

Still don’t know what it is. Is it not a rock band

Great band

It's a decentralized Twitter that works more like email.

🤣

Nostr in 2023 is like the Cello browser in early the http days. We have yet to see 2% of the microservices which will be built on the Nostr websocket protocol.

Haha 😂🤣👏

gotta zap you for this one jack! 😂

Nahstodon

💯

Very flawed model.

Haha. Ugh. So much of social media is redundant and pedantic.

homerun.gif

🤣🤣🤣

Twitturd

I’d say it’s useful as a telegram group replacement for very focused project (I’m thinking of the Podcast Index and Podcasting 2.0)…until there is a great Nostr client that serves as an encrypted group chat (also to disrupt WhatsApp)

fedivucks

😂

👍🏻

mastodon has it's niche but nostr is game changing

At the same time- Twitter etc presents a pretty usable platform for the majority of people. Takes a lot to upend such a large network affect.

the big diff I’ll note compared to a lot of overhyped technology…

is that communication networks where people actually communicate on them all the time are usually under-hyped
