starlink is offering ach direct debit as an alternative to credit card payments, and people are upset. i guess they want the credit card companies to keep taking their cut, and the payment processors to keep censoring transactions.

When one gives ACH access to their bank account they are giving away control. ACH access allows for unlimited deposit and withdrawal access. Never give ACH access to your account.
it's also unnecessary. idk about other providers but vodafone portugal lets you pay ahead for your phone subscription. i just top it up for 3 months ahead and hardly have to think about it
That's what I heard a lot of. All I can see is that they could withdraw more than expected, but I can also cancel the authorization any time. My credit union isn't on their list of banks anyways.
