I keep saying to my son who's a computer science major, why don't more Bitcoiners code their own one off wallet?
No-one knows it exists, won't include undisclosed backdoors.

When I first got into Bitcoin... I did in fact code up my own wallet to be sure I could always access it... no I don't use that wallet now, but it was a good exercise!
yes this is the way. it's about access. I've been testing bip39 between different wallet providers
