I think this could also tie into gifting a paid relay, but the note has to be stored somewhere the client can grab it with out a pubkey yet so onboard (where the note is stored) & bootstrap (possibly a pre paid gifted relay) would be separate tags.

but I also could see a paid relays / clients where one earns maybe microsats for providing content accessed in the future…

but that’s different than an composable onboarding workflow where you would set it up for a friend or to send to a specific persons DM’s along with a short pitch explaining why they would be interested in the accounts you suggest

I was more thinking of a fiat subscription that gives paid relays and filter, but also included sats.

I think a barrier to zaps is getting Bitcoin that you are prepared to use. It is also a barrier to paying for relays. 10,000 sats seems a lot more than $3. If the Bitcoin on an exchange is traded their may be tax implications with disposing it, which is another barrier to mixing use.

If there were a $6 per month subscription that signed you up to paid relays and filter and gave you 10,000 sats per month for example, it would be a familiar feeling, like Spotify or Netflix. People might be willing to pay for a spam free add free experience.

Ah I see. I’m no bitcoin/ln expert, I could see ZEBEDEE building something like this but I imagine you would still get kyc’d for exchange. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a client that implements lightspark so it’s presented as fiat and instantly converted when received (like strike which already works as a receiving wallet).

although I find that the “yeah that cash app you already trust with your payment details” (this doesn’t work overseas) works pretty well if you can convince them to try nostr. And not have to have them build trust in unfamiliar fintech, whilst also learning nostr.
