I was specially interested in the part when "XMPP failed us!". Why did it fail?
Actually I have many questions besides that, mostly about solutions you cited from other protocol attempts, but I don't even know how to start asking those. I had seen some of these, but they are so vast and it sometimes it takes a long time to understand them before we can evaluate the good and bad ideas.
Yeah, it’s a full time job just keeping track of the various projects, implementations, and ideas behind them.
