We could simply enforce the existing laws, but instead we have new security legislation that both parties are agreeing on. Part of it allows searches at airports beyond current rules and has nothing to do with the southern border and everything to do with eroding more of our freedoms.
Also sets up the potential to gain consent from the public to construct our own prison by closing any exits as the economy collapses.
