Both are good. Both work on Linux and BSDs.

They leapfrog each other, the winning side gets complacent and the losing side starts spitting out cheap competitive products until eventually catches up and regain leadership.

Although it needs to be said intel has a bigger list of jerk moves (CPUID, gaming their compilers against competition, management engine etc).
