You’re confusing internal experience with external reality. Of course physical assault is real—but how you interpret and carry that experience is internal. That’s the point.
When I say “oppression doesn’t exist,” I’m not denying history or cruelty—I’m rejecting the identity built around perpetual victimhood. Oppression as a mindset becomes self-fulfilling: if you believe you’re powerless, you act powerless.
My daughters will be taught resilience, not helplessness. If someone hits them, I’ll teach them to fight back, not to frame their whole existence through the lens of being a victim. There’s a difference between acknowledging injustice and submitting to it as a permanent state of being.
