Patrick Henry said this in 1788. This is what the US 2nd amendment is about. I think it is still quite relevant, how about you?

I think 2A far more powerful than people realize.

A populace that trusts its physical protection to a government entity is outsourcing a fundamental human responsibility. Obedience follows naturally.

I agree. The importance of the 2nd amendment doesn't start when the government tries to take your freedom; it starts with building a culture that takes seriously the responsibility of self defense and defending others.
