Yeah.
I refused the face scan on the way out.
Was harassed on the way back.
“Random screening” at security (though not sure how they could actually tell it’s still suspicious) and then again when boarding.

I didn’t even know you could refuse. I was traveling internationally and the passport checks claimed to require it. Maybe it’s different for domestic travel. My wife even said to me, “I see what you’ve been talking about now.”
Domestic you can (maybe only US citizen?) international I’m not sure.
