This is actually an insane improvement. Why is Meta releasing a multi-modal model that crushes similar models from OpenAI and Anthropic and they’re only bumping the version as a minor release?

It crushes 4o-mini which is probably the best price point right now. They are also competing with qwen which is pretty hot. Will be interesting to see how the token per mill prices are for the different models. It would be good to get some in sats on here too.

Exactly, open source models are crushing the closed source competitors. I really hope this continues, it would be a real shame if AI becomes centralized in the hands of the few.
