Conspiracy Theory:
SEC approves all of the ETFs and passes rule that makes bitcoin transactions illegal. They cannot stop them but you run the risk of legal consequences if you buy, sell, or transact in bitcoin. You can only buy the ETF.
Sounds pretty likely & the equivalent in many other countries/states.
