The guy who made the worldwideweb, http, html etc. literally co-wrote a standard to do this for the whole web, in 2007. I remember showing it to nostr:npub1q3t5ttqwjzjrv9q68twaj4t4ct4dg7mp8azjsu5rukqzlalan87s57u7l3 in 2013. Everyone ingored it though. Even after nostr it took about a long time working with nostr:npub1xv8mzscll8vvy5rsdw7dcqtd2j268a6yupr6gzqh86f2ulhy9kkqmclk3x and alby to get it into nostr. It was a long road to get this far. There is also a ton of stuff in nostr today that people that have not noticed but is more powerful than anything that came before ...

Are you mentioning solid? Has it gotten any traction, how does it compare?

This was WebID which became WebID+TLS and then Solid.

It's not got a lot of traction yet, but a belgian region want to use it, and there is a w3c group trying to make it a REC, which will hopefully happen by 2026.

I'll take the best part of it and port it to nostr, with #nip98 and nosdav
