AI is great and all, but I prefer natural materials formed over millions of years as calcium carbonate precipitates from mineral-rich groundwater in sedimentary environments, gradually crystallizing into an orange, honeycomb pattern of fibrous crystals separated by white calcite membranes.

That looks great. It really got orange after polishing !

Thanks. This is also the back side. The front has more inclusions and color variety.

Could you please provide a little more detail?

About?

HOLY SMOKES, THAT'S BEAUTIFUL

Beautiful work! I would love to see more of these. Maybe different stones

And you're looking healthy Brekkie 👍

Amazing 🧡🤙

insane lol

This turned out to be absolutely incredible!!! Wow!

I’m with you there

Hi brekkie 🏴‍☠️😉🤟 nice to meet you 🤝 Ah yes, the timeless elegance of banded onyx proof that nature has been perfecting its own ‘machine learning’ for millions of years, one mineral layer at a time. AI may optimize, but it can’t replicate the slow poetry of geological formation.

Close but not quite. This is orange honeycomb calcite from Utah.

Looks ducking good 😍

Hellya, I find another person on nostr who is creating real value!!!

You guys inspiring me lot 🙏

we all human 😃

Banger post ! Is that an Amber onyx ? Gorgeous !

Thanks. No it’s orange honeycomb calcite

where can i buy this table please?

nvm just found it

Lol not a table but I’m open to making one… the big orange guy is for a commission so it’s already taken..

Man , this is amazing , wish I can afford it though

AI can never ENJOY making art.

Seeing the satisfaction on your face after all the effort you have put into making that sculpture is proof that humans will always win at art.

Amazing work!

What a great way to think about it. Great artists have passion for what they do and a computer just can't replicate that.

That’s so dope

Where will that go? Looks awesome

Private commission. But hopefully the owners will show it off at a conference

What type of stone is that?

It’s called orange honeycomb calcite. From Utah.

Is it hard to source? Expensive? You could probably make a business out of just fabricating and selling Bitcoin logos out of it!

It is unfortunately. My understanding is that it’s a stone that forms in veins near other stones and they only really dig it up incidentally while quarrying for other stuff. It does come up, but not as often as I’d like. Also to be honest I don’t love carving it. It’s fragile and requires only using angle grinders or saws. No hammer and chisel. And sanding it is rough too because of how translucent it is. It’s definitely beautiful, but I prefer working in marble…

Well its awesome! Congrats on completing that beauty

Thank you. Still a few more days of work left but almost there.🤝
