It's all about money.

What is?

Nah, I was saying that being told that it's all about the money was the worst advice I've ever received.

As for bad advice.... Hopefully I've forgotten and ignored most of it... Oh wait... "Bitcoin isn't going anywhere, ignore it" that counts as bad advice I took on board about ten years ago and now regret.

To reject my experience-based heuristics/instincts for probabilistic thinking.

Great way to squander your hard-won understanding of something in exchange of garden-variety midwittery.

Still trying to unlearn that lesson.

Let me just pull out my dictionary real quick...

Wisdom

yes

Worst advice: "Don't try to make a carreer out of your passion"

The only professional I knew of as a kid repeated that lie when I, age 12, asked him for advice.

It was a meme from the 80's business 'genius' backwards-thinkers that I thankfully recognized as severely retarded. It took me 30 years to find out where he got that idea.

I learned at that moment that adults, the more credentialed they were, the more lies they would believe and spread around.
