In 1958, during a wave of religious persecution, he was arrested for refusing to denounce his beliefs and for his unwavering dedication to his parishioners. Subjected to brutal interrogation and torture, he never wavered. Imprisoned and eventually poisoned, he died a martyr for Christ. His sacrifice stands as a testament to faith's enduring power.
