I find it very bizarre that get replies to your tweets is penalized. One would think that a platform like this would try to maximize time spent on the platform. A like is 1ms engagement vs replies, which keep people on the platform for longer.

What this tells me is that Twitter is trying to maximize one way communications instead of conversations.
