It's not yours if you pay taxes on it yearly, thats the whole point and nothing else. I'm not telling people to not buy homes or not buy land or cars. I don't care what anyone does. I'm just saying with these things they aren't yours.
Yes you certainly can own things and pay taxes on them. Not sure about America. But in Canada, you can and we do.
If the government is forcing you to pay money because you "own" something it's not yours, because what happens if you don't pay it? They either take you and lock you up and take the property or they get into your money and take it themselves. Regardless we are dealing with criminals.

Once you buy a property its done. Tax is not a recurring payment on the property. You need to know this. Property taxes are for the amenity a town for example will provide your property.

Why do we need to give the government money yearly on something you already own? How does this show ownership? It mostly shows we are in a trash system where we are robbed for attempting to own property. As far as abuse go we supposedly have people who are accountable to others in the form of government and that hasn't gone too well it's turned into people in government who can do whatever they want on a whim with very little to no consequences.
