🤔 dunno how I feel about self-selected progenitors.

Also, this seems like it wouldn’t scale.

Also, how does it fix newcomer onboarding?

Thinking out loud. What if clients had very easy, like ELI5, ONBOARDING framework. Like a walkthru. With quick explanations.

Seems quite interesting. The first 5 progenitors will be announced at nostrica. Then you need all 5 to agree on another human, to create the 6th. After that you need 5 of 6, 5 of 7 ... 5 of N etc.

So the first few will be the hardest, but it could take off at #nostrica, then after that through the network

What are the scaling issues?

What happens when you don’t know anyone? How about newcomers who see spam by default? This system doesn’t seem yo address that. Also introduces friction to key pair creation process. Doesn’t seem like the right approach to me.

We'll have to see what event structure is chosen

But it seems to me there's two parts to it:

1. Store the verification event on nostr. That will have a certain structure and kind I suppose. As such using that anyone can verify anyone

2. Progenitor heuristic. That seems specific to the reputation algorithm. So the project seems like it will measure that to provide a signal then I suppose an APi to get a badge or something

I dont know if it will take off, but glad people are trying things in this area

Why only start with 5? Why not set something up to start by verifying anyone in person at nostrica? In person is a great place to bootstrap something like this

I don’t like this idea! I don’t want to leave my room and meet people…
