The idea is simple: find an open source hardware project that you would like to have built for you, pool resources with others who want the same, we build a batch of the devices for the group.
Right now I just want to get a pulse for whether there is interest in this concept.
If I am involved, there WILL be a donation to the person/group who created the design. This is not a negotiation.

The cost per unit will almost certainly be higher to produce in a small batch than buying direct from the creator. So you might be asking ,"If it's more expensive, then what's the point?"
1. You won't be in their database as a customer
2. The hardware might not be available in fully assembled form
3. To call bullshit on projects that are supposedly open hardware but in reality, there's not enough information available to reproduce their work
I think that third point is really the most important.
I want to reward anyone who is publishing open hardware and penalize anyone who is trying to capitalize on the trend of #OpenHardware without holding up their end of the bargin. If you feel the same way, give this post a boost and we'll see if there's enough interest to make this a reality.

I tried growing mushrooms (outside) and it was a completele failure. Worst of all, we don't know what we did wrong. We followed the instructions that came with the spores...
Amyway, what's of this equipmemt for? Is it for producing the spores, or indoor growing, or something else?
The induction heater thing I am working on allows you to quickly and easily heat up a scalpel when germinating spores on a petri dish. You can clean up a culture on a Petri dish then send to grain, then send to woodchips or other things. It’s just better to clean a culture before trying to expand it but not always necessary.
Send me more details about what you did and I can provide advice about how to maybe do it better next time. I don’t have a lot of experience growing outdoors but a lot of the concepts are the same.
We had two types, and I can look up the names if it'd be helpful.
Break into egg sized pieces, bury it in 3" of compost. Keep wet.
Wet cardboard, layer of wood chips, crumble and spread the spore on top. Keep wet.
Our best guess was that we didn't keep it wet enough. 🤷♂️
