However I do not see this applying in full to the context of the original note. The purpose of which was to simply highlight that people will likely move to preserve their freedoms, as they have throughout history when opportunity presented itself.
Nations should not consider implementing bans without knowing they will forfeit a portion of their tax base by doing so. Whether enough nations can counter such an effect by banning together, or have a longer term incentive to do so, in my mind remains to be seen.
