CPU?

Everything. CPU, memory, and bandwith.

I'm really worried about hardware costs in the future, I hope they lead deflation costs 😶😶

Any tips appreciated.

Currently building on Ubuntu 22.10 x64

4 vCPUs

8GB / 160GB Disk

Any idea what sort of user numbers that can take?

Very dependent on which software implementation you choose to run. They each have different trade offs but some are much more CPU efficient.

Still don’t have good answers to your question because different clients and individual users have very different resource consumption. I’ll circle back when I have more real data.

You gonna need to scale with kuberneties and a load balancer

Definitely load balancing. Kubernetes we’ll see. #[3] and I have a lot of experience running weird bare metal Kubernetes clusters so we could probably pull it off but might not be necessary.

On a cloud costs would be insane

Is the bottleneck bandwidth?

I'm curious, what are the specs of the servers you are running right now?
