Be more active! Doesn’t have to be intense exercise but just doing more physical stuff should help a lot. Also instead of forcing yourself, try fasting for a bit, seems like a good opportunity

My concern is that fasting in this state would eat up my muscle mass because of the elevated cortisol

When I do prolonged fasts I lose a lot of fat percentage and only a tiny bit of muscle. I bet you’d lose more muscle being in a large caloric deficit for some time instead of doing a proper water fast, look it up!

The fast might also fix whatever is wrong, it’s incredible how much a prolonged water fast can do

If you start smelling ammonia, eat something. This means you are burning muscle instead of fat.

This is usually an issue at the end of a long endurance race.

Like just randomly smelling ammonia??

Yes

What does it even smell like 😂

Smells kind of like urine.

I think if you have fat to burn, your body will burn that instead of muscle when carbohydrates are low. This is really only an issue with long intense cardio workouts

I think when cortisol is elevated, the body prioritizes fat for survival and will eat muscles. It’s really complex lol
