What is this about? Is this an AppStore limitation beeing circumvented or why do Zaps not work on Damus?
And if they "are not allowed", how are Apple users different from Instagram,X, fb users?
Completely centralised control over your software? Why is that a thing on Nostr?
One should think of NOSTR like "they are all freedom hackers using bitcoin and distributed nodes to circumvent ANY centralication".
Throw that Apple garbage where it belongs.
You can zap people on their user profile page no problem.
Zapping individual notes however is not allowed by Apple for some ridiculous reason that it’s somehow ‘selling stuff’ (which it’s not, rather it’s tipping or gifting, but Apple wants their cut).
The centralized control you mention is partly true when on the Apple App Store, the nature of the beast as they say, but many ppl (myself included) still use Apple (for now).
nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s has been working to have a browser based version of Damus so that it’s not beholden to Apple. He is amazing and has worked so hard bringing this client to where it is.
In the meantime I’m just really grateful that someone figured out the workaround so that we CAN zap individual notes 😊
