Yes. Unless required for work, avoid San Jose downtown, nothing nice to see there... Go to Uvita, Tamarindo, Arenal Volcano, Irazú Volcano... Anywhere but San Jose.
Appreciate it. I do have some business there but will rent a car and try visit Uvita for sure!
