People would rather spend money on fireworks than support an animal shelter.
I heard someone mention this a few days ago and it is really hitting home.
I see where that is coming from.
Yet we have to understand, you cannot have a healthy society, and burden them with all the mischief of world.
Yes it is sad, that the money is not going to the animals.
But also let people have some joy in this stressful times.
It’s little bit like the oxygen mask in the plane. First they have to be a bit happy, before they can share the fortune with other people or animals.
And yes, you can also get happy if you support a animals shelter. But that works not for everyone.
I'm also highly against fireworks which are IMO completely useless and in many times stressful for those who suffers from after war PTSD.
Fireworks are ancient technology. Use lasers and drones to have fun.
Oh right, speaking about fun. Fun is relative and some people are having fun with stuff we don't wanna know. Bundy would know
Facts.
I had a rather nasty accident with fireworks when I was 15, so I am particularly weary of them. Not to mention, my poor dogs go nuts. It’s not even just the 4th, I’ve been hearing them for a few nights and will probably go on a few days past the 4th s well.
I get it and I don’t want to sound like “that guy”, but I really love animals and when I heard that the other day, it made a lot of sense. People spend hundreds of dollars for a small amount of excitement when that money go do so much more good if we gave it to our local shelters.
Absolutely agree. I've heard sad stories about dogs ran away because of the strees and we owned a big dog years ago and each and every "happy new year" was nothing like that at all. Poor dog, he went nuts and we couldn't help him. He was also abnormally scared of atmospheric electromagnetic discharges. Oh boy, I'm kinda happy for him that he doesn't need to suffer thunderstorms anymore. 🐶
