Catholicism teaches that Christ is unable to save sinners. That somehow sinners need to provide a continuity of good works (upon which Man is the authority) in order for Christ's salvation to be meaningful, and hopefully they will get lucky and Christ will have been able to save them, once their good works have been summed, presumably by God by honoring the Pope's arithmetic. It is a religion that elevates Man, demoting God and Jesus Christ.

The actual Bible, on the other hand, teaches that God chose various people before the beginning of time, with nothing to do with them but merely for God's glory, to be redeemed of their sin. That God regenerates, at a time of His choosing, these Elect people, violating their "free will", upon which point their hearts are regenerated, and an irrestible force draws them into Christ, upon which they enter into a life of ever increasing obedience, participating in baptism and the Lord's Supper, and practicing the means of Grace (studying God's word, participating in church fellowship, praying), and gradually being sanctified (washed) of their sins, with good works as fruits of their sanctification, although still dying a sinner with continuous failing but with their debts fully and perfectly paid for by Jesus Christ.
