Is nostr popular in Japan? Can someone tell me why?

Probably the extensive online censorship they have over there.
Twitter and other many platforms are blocked in Russia, but nostr is not popular here.
That's weird to me. I have such a problem with censorship that I have my own domain with multiple servers in disparate countries to host my blog, so that it would take the actions of a powerful nation state to silence me.
