We had markdown in the early days and it was removed from most clients because it was a mess.

Not for kind 1 events. It’s not widely implemented (and won’t be) because most users don’t understand how to use it.

And full markdown included support for embedding malicious links.

yea, the links is def a problem.

I write Asciidoc into Kind 01 manually, like I say this is *bold* and this is _italic_.

Has an effect on how the reader digests it, even without the interpreter.
