The collective number of life-minutes the TSA has wasted might be in the trillions. We’re talking millions of years of human life, probably the equivalent of killing 500K people.
Not including the indignity.
They could set up an opt-in TSA for the compliant in a small booth over to the side. You could pay $20 extra to go through the scanner and have your toothpaste confiscated.
