Every time I had to work on my node, it became hours of troubleshooting.

Here goes attempt number two of upgrading it. Fingers crossed it works this time.

It's insane. I had to take a mental break after the first failed attempt. It’s nerve-racking.

Good luck 🫂

Honestly it’s a process, but the reward is highly satisfying once all the bugs are ironed out.

Agreed.

After this update, things should go much smoother. Its just this one that requires s a deep clean.

Future #Umbrel OS 1.x updates should all be Over-The-Air.

Agreed, the firmware on umbrel wasn’t always the smoothest in my experience but what are trying to touch up on?

They completely overhauled the system. The OS is now an actual OS rather than an app sitting on top of Linux.

So you have to back up everything, wipe Linux, replace it with a full UmbrelOS install, then put back all the files.

Ah fuck, yea I can see how that would mess up with things, cuz I remember too that even the individual apps too had their own scripts written in Linux that would sometimes not work after the update

Yeah, the process is scary. If the external hard drive used for backup during migration fails for any reason, the node is gone, and you would have to start building channels from scratch. lol

Wish me luck! half way through.

Fingers crossed, hopefully the transition goes without a hitch 💜

Thank you! if all goes well... we will celebrate together hahaha

Relatable. I need to invest in an APS for my internet and node. Had way too many power outages, then I have to go through a series of steps to get node back online.

Yessss very important. I fried my data in Nov 2023 and had to Force Close all channels and salvage two zombie channels.

Stop using LND or CLN, jump on a Eclair bandwagon with replicated posgresql and sleep well 🐶🐾🤣

I barely can manage the one with the pretty UI 😅 maybe on the next node.
