Explain it to me like i'm 5. Why isn't solar subsidised for domestic homes?

It seems like we have a lack of production capacity and it feels like such an obvious solutions because:

- It lowers carbon emissions

- It makes communities more resilient

- It lowers cost of living

- It creates jobs

- It adds to the economy

- It delivers value for the country from the first installation not in 10+ years when the project is completed

My uncle has panels connected to a battery and runs his house including EV charging from it. They only use charging stations when on a long trip. Such a great setup.
