People overestimate what human technology actually does on Earth.

We only use materials that nature has refined the bleep out of already. Hydrothermal reprocessing is a big one, but evaporite sequences and fractional crystallisation of magma is another.

Industrial civilisation only works where nature has already done the heavy lifting via a long-lasting energy gradient and diverse input materials.

Earth has it. Mars probably has it. Ceres might. Mercury, Venus and Luna definitely don't have it.

Ganymede and Europa may be even better than Earth for refined, separated raw materials lying around waiting for us.
