My two cents, I think as time goes on and BTC is used more as a settlement layer, privacy on the base chain will be less of a concern for everyday people. The bigger worry will be Lightning privacy.

I think that’s right, but if number go up, then it could be a decade or two away
Have to remember though that as Lightning grows in usage it ultimately always relies on the base layer for security and thus inherits privacy issues from the base layer.
Need good privacy tools on both.
