Only thing that gives me pause is that modern imaging tech allows for observing various "viruses" like HIV, without relying on theoretical 3D modelling.

However, it doesn't mean that HIV is virus ; it could be a genetically modified microscopic fungi, bacteria, or parasite.

Are referring to electron microscopy? I’m aware of these images. Dr. Lanka and others contend that what is viewed and believed to be viruses is nothing more than bits of genetic material from dead cells. The problem is, Lanka contends that there is no control to these experiments. And when he performs the same experiment but doesn’t introduce any viral culture into the process, he gets the same results as the experiments with the so-called viruses. This shouldn’t be.

Agreed, the presence of microbes does not in itself confirm the reality of virology.
