In the cult of personalities, this one is me. According to an online test I took.

I’m an INFJ. I’m almost exclusively interested in connecting with xNTx folks, which has become a minor inconvenience these days.

The β€œI” in us make connecting a perpetual inconvenience if you ask me.

True, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I take great pride in being an introvert, to the extent of slight smugness.

Same. I've learned to successfully live with it.

I've done the assessment for both work and personal reasons a few times over the years.

I've always been an ISTP. However, the "I" had become less extreme as I've gotten older (according to the assessments).

People who know me IRL superficially are always surprised. My close friends aren't. I've learned to fake the "I" quite well over time when in the wild places of Man. But I've bookmarked this note so that I can take it over the weekend. It's been a long while since I've done it.

I agree about the whole faking thing. I needed it tamed for my career. It was immensely exhausting in the beginning. So it's become difficult to tell whether I've become used to and quite good at faking it or I've learned to manage it that I can switch it on and off. I do know that I need my time alone. And I mean alone in the wilderness for periods of time to recover.

If life had a fast forward button, then we could skip through the mouthy chatter that bore-@$$ed us. But we are not so lucky. So yeah, ya fake in hopes that it help us get us to the meat and sauce of the point a bit faster. Not my quote but "society is a dominantly extraverted tribe". When in Rome.....

Why I like Sparta.

Funny enough I scored the same, not sure why leadership training requires a personality test though 🫀

You were required to take one for a leadership position? Interesting.

INTJ myself. Welcome to the family :-p

As personality tests go, its fairly repeatable (test-retest reliability), but not particularly good at predicting future behaviour, at work or otherwise.

Fun, though!

Fun, indeed. I never quite took it as something absolute. Moreso just putting words to who we already know we are or can be.

I find it inconceivable to fit the complexities of people into 16 buckets. I think we are fairly complex beings and malleable in ways that we can change by choice or as we adapt to our environment. Maybe in 10 years, it will be different.

I’d agree. Have friends who are and we get along very well.

Hey there fellow intj. Now what's you star sign. ;)
