I don’t know if you’re joking or not, but given your last screenshot showing 900+ relays, and some websites mentioning around 12k active userds (assuming both figures are a good representation of “relays” and “users” respectively), we’re getting close to 1 relay for every 10 users. This is amazing!

Of course, these stats could be heavily distorted... For all I know, utxo, fiatjaf, cloudfodder, someone and semisol could esch be running 200 relays.

How is Amethyst handling the whole 900-relays thing?

I was doing 2k+ websockets for arbitrage software in the past (don't ask), but it wasn't with json and ad hoc encryption like Nostr, plus I wasn't doing it on a mobile phone. So I'm genuinely curious.

It's not as bad as I though it would be. Android can take 6000 simultaneous connections. Then it's all about how fast we can process the incoming events. And since the outbox just brings the data from each author, it becomes quite lean.
