As someone who works in product design and vibe codes regularly, I can say that we’re not there yet for anything beyond a simple app.

The models still can’t figure out a lot of stuff that so far requires human input.

I definitely have a lot more freedom now to create what I imagine - and I’ve done this on several occasions. All of them are rather simple UX apps.

But for anything more advanced - b2b or with some complexity, I still have to architect the flow.

It could just be a matter of time though - we’ll see. In any case I’ll use the tools available when helpful. It’s like another tool in a toolbox.

Yeah the upscaling reminds me of the resolution upscaling for vertex rendered realtime 3D. There is stuff happening though to make that more effecient but it does use trickery a bit. Maybe we can pull some kind of rabbit out of the hat for models.

The problem is not exactly the same though because you can choose to wait a bit longer as you don't need realtime.

idk which AI tools you use but cursor and jetbrains junie both can do some pretty deep logic because they plan their actions and examine the code to refine the plan and actually succeed at doing things that require several levels of causality to be accounted for.

they are still dumber than a human, no creativity or inventiveness, but they can do a lot of repetitive edits and changes that are defined by a specification of what you want to be done.

since starting to use Junie i spend a lot less time on tedious simple algorithms and big refactoring edits and get more results. i'm sure that the same tools will also greatly improve client development when they are used.

skill issue

Not sure what you mean by that 🤷‍♂️

the better you get, the better your vibe code becomes
