whyyyyyy
do you all enjoy torturing yourselves?! π
You get used to it, the cold activates certain parts of your brain which cause your head to shut off and go into survival mode. It can get quiet meditative to be out there.
During the night we have -20Β°C sometimes, it's ok
idk if i could get used to it.. i highly doubt my ancestors ever went anywhere cold lmaooo
you prob have an advantage there.. maybe not idk you to make that assumption
but yeah, i can promise you rn that i will never willingly go somewhere that is negative Fahrenheit πππ but it does sound really cool that it gets quiet meditative
Humans have the unique ability to adapt and survive in all sorts of climates and environments. Cold. Hot. We will fucking win. I'm sure you could do it if you had to.
Youβre absolutely right, if Iβm forced to Iβd def have to adapt!
Advantage yes but disadvantage in summer during the heat, we're around 1.500m altitute in the valley's which acts like a pot in summer, we get +35Β°C, that's when I'm melting and dying
We moved from FL to NH a few years ago, and I would never want to go back to that sweltering heat. The different seasons are so nice. Just my opinion though. To each their own.
This is me at the Cathedral of The Northern Lights in Alta, Christmas day 2023 at 1pm. It was -24 deg C

Beautiful, I catched the northern lights last year in central Europe
Sadly I have never properly seen them.
I've been to the artic circle three times, and only ever seen a faint glimmer of green.
My wife was at home in Oxfordshire, UK about 3 months ago when the whole of the UK had an amazing aurora borealis, but I was at our place on the Isle of Wight in the south and saw none of it π
You are very lucky to have seen it, I hope to witness it within my life time.
I saw them two times last year alone in the same place, be patient.
As earths magnetic field weakens at an acclerating speed until the upcomming poleshift we are going to see them more and more very soon! π
Not sure if you realize what kind of person you're replying to here
Another spot where I should reply to remind people about this based on how many clicks away from the trending feed it is
