If 1 sat is equal to 1$ and fiat money still exists, how do we pay for things worth less than $1?

Here's my take on this. When 1 sat is equal to $1, nothing will be sold for less than $1. But just in case, the Lightning Network can facilitate transactions using milli-satoshis (1/1,000th of a satoshi).
We can do a backward compatible soft fork. From my understanding this has already been thought through and we're well prepared for this scenario
