While Vexl works like Tinder, it doesn’t make use of GPS location or other tracking information. Instead, it reads an encrypted address book and leverages a web of trust to recommend contacts of your contacts.

The company has no access to your contacts, as the decryption only takes place between you and your trading partner in order to verify mutual friends.
