no, it's not only true of men.

this is a personality type and it exists in women too, but manifests in different ways.

in MBTI terms they are ExTJ types. extrovert thinkers with a judging (decisive) as opposed to perceiving (pondering) personality. the opposite of the thinker is the feeler.

and in Big Five (OCEAN) terms, they're low in neuroticism (high in emotional stability).

the Myers-Briggs tests were originally designed for recruiting women into the workforce in wartime. having little prior job experience, businesses needed a way to categorise them.

the way i view it, it takes all types to run a society. and even if you're emotional, there are ways of being so in a secure way.

as for being easily swayed by the opinions of others, the opposite of that is to refuse to listen and turn into an authoritarian maniac. not good either.
