💯 Also, the nature of building on open source means plenty of “mutations” to help the ecosystem evolve and proliferate. The recent Amethyst/Onyx fork was an incredible real-time example where users and devs with competing value sets and ideologies quickly forked the dominant Android client for their own purposes.
