VC firms have a fiduciary responsibility to their investors to do everything they can to benefit the shareholders.

If Odell votes for a 1031 competitor to receive a grant from OpenSats he is breaking that promise to his shareholders

Full stop. This is not permitted in any industry. It’s not about opinions this IS a conflict of interest. Disclosing it doesn’t justify breaking fiduciary responsibility.

The primal thing is setting a terrible precedent do you understand what I said about them changing users notes?

It’s not about centralized media hosting it’s about altering the users notes.

The media url is part of my note and primal is altering it by using their media file.

They could at any point change the media that’s used in that url.

I feel like you are not understanding how bad this is. It defeats the purpose of Nostr.

primal already miss the point of nostr with the way they built their infrastructure cache server. which is closed source, i think, as well.

I've wanted to run one, but I'm not going to spend an additional $100+ a month out of the goodness of my heart just to help with caching decentralization. It needs some monetization mechanism.

Yeah, I'm kind of in the same boat I've wanted to run one. I should probably spin it up and test it just to play with it. But I don't really feel like making it an additional cost to what I already run.
